Technically, I *am* root for the home team. Weird, huh?
(I need a new pun here, huh...)

I Love HD, but The Lord Hates Indy

I've had a Zenith LCD HDTV for awhile now, but haven't used the HD capabilities before, since I use a ReplayTV DVR, which puts out a regular old tv signal, and I didn't have a HD cable box anyway.

With the new house, I went to the Cablevision offices and got a new HD box, and decided to pop for the one with a DVR in it. I hooked everything up yesterday, and spent this weekend watching the NFL playoffs in glorious HD. And pretty awesome football it was, too. New England lost (yay!), and the Colts/Steelers game turned out to be one for the ages.

Click this image to see the full-size version of the set-up right before the game-not-winning field goal attempt. You can see the numbers on each individual fan's jerseys in the end zone... it's crazy. Like watching the game through a window.

After muffing the kick that he barely got the chance to even attempt, the kicker said this:

"It's extreme disbelief. From the Polamalu interception reversal to Jerome's fumble, everything seemed to be lined up in our favor. I guess the Lord forgot about the football team."

You know, Jesus really let the New Orleans Saints down this year, too. No Pro Bowl trip for the Lord!
